Electromagnetic prospecting TDEM and FDEM

Measurement and analysis of the behavior of electromagnetic fields induced in the ground.

The electromagnetic techniques for subsoil prospecting are based on measuring and analyzing the behavior of electromagnetic fields induced in the ground by means of pulses of specific currents circulating through a coil placed horizontally on the ground.
The surveying equipment consists of a current transmitter with its power supply, a transmitter coil, the receiver of the induced fields and a digital recorder to record the data for later study and analysis.
Depending on the domain on which the work focuses, there are two different groups of techniques: the time domain (TDEM) and the frequency domain (FDEM).

terraTEM

The terraTEM is a robust transient electromagnetic (TEM) survey system that provides high-resolution conductivity imaging.
Applications of the terraTEM include mineral exploration, near-surface applications including geotechnical and engineering investigations, salinity and groundwater studies, and environmental studies.

terraTEM24

The terraTEM24, the next generation, has been designed to acquire high quality transient electromagnetic data from a wide variety of sensors, from inductive and B-field remote sensors to single loop and coincident loop configurations.
The terraTEM24 is available as a 1, 2, 3, 6 or 9 data channel system. Data is recorded simultaneously from all channels. Purpose-designed true 24-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and dedicated signal paths for each channel ensure data integrity.

terraTX-50

The terraTX-50 is a high-power field transmitter capable of supplying 50 amps to a transmitter loop, designed to be used in conjunction with a terraTEM24 unit. The period is controlled by the terraTEM24 or the optional built-in GPS timing module. The ramp and full transmit current waveform are entered directly into the terraTEM24. This makes the system easy to operate, freeing operators from entering key system parameters into the console after each survey.
